Long lines to come to the medical screening at the Hall des Artes in Cotonou, Benin, West Africa. Many people came from far away and many were in line a day before we opened the doors.
This young boy stayed close to his parents and very shyly smiled when I brought my hand puppet, Lamb Chop, to him. Maybe he has been shunned by his classmates.
There were quite a few children at the screening with bowed legs and others with a club foot.
Just the beginning of the work to be done aboard the hospital ship named the M/V Africa Mercy.
