First Course: SAFE Paediatric Anaesthesia

The 1st of 2 classes begins this weekend as we teach pediatric anesthesiology and better practices of pain management during trauma or surgery in kids.

There are not many anesthesiologists in this country of Guinea. The instructors are from Switzerland, the UK and the US. Then they in turn will teach others so we also teach the teachers.

The goal of Medical Capacity Building is to build the capacity of recipients of the training to care for each other better after we are gone.

Note, there are many NGOs working in this country and none too few. I saw a Doctors Without Borders vehicle going by yesterday on our visit to the course venue off the ship. I know that the World Health Organization has a strong presence here.....all to educate and provide medical empowerment. We do it in the name of Jesus.

The plack you see when you enter the ship.
